Accounting software could come to the rescue of Rangers FC

12th January

Category: Accounting software

Scottish giants Rangers FC may find that the use of accounting software provides a solution to a potentially difficult situation.

The club's shares have been suspended from the stock exchange and trading prohibited after bosses submitted a set of accounts that had not been audited.

Despite completing the annual results at the end of November, Rangers failed to get them checked over and signed off by an independent auditor.

Stock exchange rules dictate that businesses must go through this process prior to submitting financial figures.

A Rangers statement read: "The delay has been caused as a result of finalising the audit, which the board believe will be complete on or around January 31st."

The use of efficient and hi-tech accounting software could be one way to ensure auditing is of the highest quality and in line with regulations.

Rangers' performance on the pitch is also a cause for concern, after their lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League was recently overturned by rivals Celtic.
