Accounting software ‘improves accuracy’

16th April

Category: Accounting and financial software

Companies that purchase accounting software, such as SAP Business One, can expect to reap a number of rewards, it has been claimed.

Morris Kaplan of CFO World listed the benefits such a move could bring to small and medium-sized enterprises.

The industry expert has noted that enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are designed to improve the precision, accessibility and timeliness of mission-critical financial data.

By doing this, the technology "manages processes and procedures for accurately entering, tracking and maintaining information related to an organisation’s financial operations", he explained.

Mr Kaplan added that the implementation of such software would mean a chief financial officer can expect increased productivity from his or her staff members and improved accounting performance management and strategic company planning, "at the very least".

Writing for Computer World, Thomas Wailgum recently noted that the installation of ERP systems is costing less, as the price to carry out such an implementation reduced in 2009.
