Each of the major political parties is in support of flexible working.
Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats have all pledged their support to remote access employment, Matt Wheeler, product and marketing director at Amano UK, has told hrzone.co.uk.
The three main parties have each championed the wider adoption of the method, which can be achieved through such software as Citrix Access Gateway, for the social and economic benefits it can bring.
Labour wishes to extend the right to request flexible working for elderly people and also wants to increase statutory paternity leave to give parents more time with their children.
The Liberal Democrats believe the option can help out families as fathers and grandparents will have more chance to look after their offspring, while the Conservatives aim to use it to improve the work-life balance of five million public sector workers.
Adi Gaskell recently wrote in a blog on the Chartered Management Institute’s website that workforce mobility can reduce costs for both employers and employees.
