Businesses hoping to gain a competitive advantage by increasing the quality of their communication networks may find Citrix’s new XenApp 6 helpful, one expert has claimed.
Writing for CTOEdge, technical specialist Mike Vizard said the offering, which will be made available for download from next week, provides a range of options in this area.
"[Citrix XenApp 6 adds] support for full video and audio conferencing capabilities," he remarked. "The addition of the HDX support also adds support for smartphones to the XenApp list."
According to Mr Vizard, other benefits include a simplified integration process and good compatibility with a wide range of Microsoft platforms.
It has been designed to run on Windows Server 2008 R2, he explained, with extra functionality for Microsoft systems management tools and App-V.
Bill Burley, group vice-president and general manager of the XenApp product group, recently claimed that the new software brings "an entirely new level" of IT proficiency.
