Businesses ‘must avoid common accounting software mistakes’

26th August

Category: Accounting software

Firms around the country taking advantage of accounting software and the benefits it creates within their businesses have been offered tips on how to make the most of it.

Randolph Johnston, executive vice-president of K2e.com, said there is one error made by companies that stands out above all.

He was referring to the decision not to train staff fully when it comes to using accounting software, particularly in the weeks immediately after its installation.

"This is an item that should be budgeted and not cut. Even though technology vendors will portray software as being easy to use, set up and integrate - it rarely is," Mr Johnston explained.

He advised securing the services of an expert for a short time in order to carry out demonstrations and tuition on how to use the software.

Software sales and marketing coach Terry Forsey, owner of Terry Forsey Consulting, recently said there are six reasons to purchase accounting software, including its ability to make bookkeeping easier.
