‘Businesses need to cooperate’ during ERP implementation

31st March

Category: ERP systems

Businesses need to be available for correspondence during the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems - such as SAP Business One - an industry expert has advised.

Writing for the Register, Dale Vile of Freeform Dynamics has recommended that important personnel need to be available to make key decisions during the process to avoid any mishaps.

He said that the "freeing up" of the relevant individuals is a necessity so that they can "contribute to the project when required".

The determining of crucial ideas should not be delegated to an external party from the customers themselves, he added, to ensure that everything runs smoothly at each stage.

He concluded that the "golden rule" for companies during the installation is to "accept that the project is theirs".

Chief information officer Marc Hebert recently wrote in an article for SiliconIndia Magazine that ERP platforms need to be considered as a long-term investment.
