Choosing an ERP implementation partner ‘is essential’

30th March

Category: ERP systems

Choosing a suitable enterprise resource planning (ERP) partner has been described as an essential part of the installation process by a pair of industry experts.

Martin Atherton and Dale Vile from Freeform Dynamics, writing for the Register, have commented that going it alone with the software is not recommended and customers should follow some of their basic tips to make the correct selection.

They stated that knowledge and a working track record of the platforms is "obvious" and those firms with practical first-hand experience are preferable.

Industry templates and pre-built assets that streamline implementation are a "good sign" as they can minimise the cost and time taken for this initial stage.

The duo concluded that many successful ERP projects are based on solid, trusted relationships, so choosing a knowledgeable partner is vital.

This sentiment was voiced earlier in the month by Houston Neal, writing for the Software Advice blog, who noted that businesses need to pick an ERP implementation form that best suits their organisation.
