Citrix NetScaler has ranked as the best product of its type after customer satisfaction market research.

A report by Enterprise Management Associates found the software beat F5 Networks and Cisco options in 16 of 21 categories.

Over 450 IT professionals were asked to evaluate their contentment with vendor offerings and Citrix emerged as the leader in all stages of the customer engagement lifecycle.

Areas in which NetScaler excelled included overall satisfaction, business value and technical quality issues. 

Conducted in December last year, the survey found Citrix’s application delivery solutions offer a far better return on investment and provide increased investment protection.

"A definite preference for Citrix NetScaler was observed when technical support responsiveness, technical support product knowledge and overall quality of technical support were measured," the survey explained.

Earlier this month, Citrix announced the availability of five new appliances in its NetScaler Application Firewall range, which are designed to improve security functions.
