Citrix pricing system ‘will drive cost-efficiencies’

19th November

A new pricing method for Citrix NetScaler could lead to companies reducing their hardware expenditure, it has been claimed.

Group vice-president and general manager of the NetScaler Product Group at the firm Klaus Oestermann said that the Pay-as-You-Grow model is "especially resonant in today's challenging economic environment".

The system will allow businesses to purchase only what they need at any one time in terms of hardware capacity and functionality, Citrix explained, with consumers able to upscale their requirements with a software license upgrade.

Mr Oestermann continued: "The flexibility and seamless scalability with this adaptable licensing fundamentally changes how companies plan for network capacity and purchase application networking solutions."

According to the firm, the new pricing system is available for both NetScaler MPX hardware technology and NetScaler VPX - software-based virtual appliances.

Citrix recently announced the availability of its Dazzle platform, which the company stated improves end-user experience for desktop virtualisation environments.
