Desktop virtualisation solutions provider Citrix has confirmed the launch of its latest tool – the GoToMeeting app for Android.

Available to download for free, the tool will help bosses to organise and host meetings anywhere and at any time.

Motorola is to pre-load the technology on its Droid Bionic handsets, while it will also include Citrix Receiver.

"[The] announcement underscores our company commitment to helping businesses – large and small – achieve flexibility and agility in the way they work for maximum productivity and success," explained Bernardo de Albergaria, vice-president and general manager of collaboration at Citrix's Online Services Division.

Users will benefit from desktop virtualisation techniques that mean they can access their documents and data while on the move.

Citrix XenDesktop was recently chosen by Middle Tennessee State University in order to facilitate on-demand access to desktops.
