Citrix Receiver for iPhone applications is one of the few products on the market that enables smooth control of virtualised environments, it has been suggested.

Writing for Datamation, David Strom noted that the free technology is "worthy of IT workers’ attention" for its ability to boost the performance of business processes.

Commenting on the program, he stated: "You can remotely control a desktop from your iPhone, as well as use it to connect to a XenApp or Presentation server host and run Windows apps."

According to Mr Strom, there is also a useful demo function that allows users to connect and see the various elements included.

For example, individuals can benefit from DocFinder, he explained, which is a feature that helps people locate their files on network servers. 

Earlier this year, Roman Pacewicz - a senior vice-president at Citrix - claimed that Receiver is an excellent way for business users to maintain control over both their corporate data and intellectual property through an iPhone.
