Citrix XenApp 6 offers users a wide range of features that can help businesses to increase their efficiency, according to the company. 

The firm announced the availability of the product on its community blog on Wednesday (March 24th), adding that it offers users "exciting new enhancements", including advanced management capabilities and improved scalability.

"XenApp 6 provides session and application virtualisation technologies that make it easy for customers to centrally manage applications," said senior product manager Sridhar Mullapudi.

According to Mr Mullapudi, the platform also provides organisations with increased Microsoft compatibility and is designed with full Windows Server 2008 R2 support and "seamless integration" with Microsoft App-V.

Citrix XenApp 6 allows enterprises to boost their flexibility, he added, through "universal device support", with PCs, Macs and smartphones all able to gain access to networks.

Technical specialist Mike Vizard recently praised the video and conferencing functions of the new software in an article for CTOEdge.
