Citrix XenApp 6 ‘is highly compatible with Microsoft programs’

12th March

Category: Virtualisation

Businesses that purchase Citrix’s XenApp 6 can benefit from increased compatibility with Microsoft technology, one expert has claimed.

General manager of system centre marketing and tools at Microsoft Garth Fort said the product, which is due to be released later this month, offers users a high level of flexibility.

He remarked: "With support for Windows Server 2008 R2 in XenApp 6 and new integration with Citrix XenApp and Microsoft App-V, we are providing increasing value to our customers."

According to Mr Fort, this provides firms with a "simplified yet powerful" delivery infrastructure for their applications.

Enterprises benefit from being able to maximise the utility of their existing systems, while still being able to develop and improve their on-demand procedures, he added.

Joab Jackson, writing for CIO, recently noted that Citrix - alongside VMware - is a dominating force on the virtualisation market.
