Citrix XenDesktop 4 has ‘solved traditional virtualisation concerns’

17th November

Citrix XenDesktop 4 has overcome a number of problems that have traditionally applied to virtualisation, it has been claimed.

Vice-president of product marketing for the organisation Sumit Dhawan said that desktop virtualisation platforms of this kind will "be the hottest technology in 2010", Information Weekly reports.

He remarked: "It will be hotter than cloud, hotter than storage virtualisation."

According to Mr Dhawan, functions such as video and multimedia delivery have been enhanced and preconceptions of poor end-user experiences are also a thing of the past.

The release of Citrix Receiver has further boosted the product's appeal, he added, as now individuals can access their virtual environments from a number of devices.

Businesses were advised that the need to implement a Windows 7 upgrade could prompt many to consider the benefits of virtualising their desktops.

In recent news, the firm announced the release of Citrix Dazzle, a new self-service solution aimed at boosting the adoption of XenDesktop 4.
