15th January

Category: Virtualisation

Citrix’s XenDesktop 4 software scooped the top prize for InforWorld’s Technology of the Year Award for 2010.

Chosen by editors and reviewers at the InfoWorld Test Center, the annual event recognises innovative products that are judged to have changed the IT landscape considerably over the last 12 months.

Raj Dhingra, group vice-president and general manager of the XenDesktop product group at Citrix said he and his firm were "honoured" by the accolade.

"XenDesktop 4 has proven to be a market-leading and award-winning desktop virtualisation product," he added.

According to Citrix, the product is able to improve return-on-investment, streamline management processes and expand virtualisation functions across an entire business’s workforce.

Furthermore, the program’s HDX technology enables it to use 90 per cent less bandwidth than its leading competitors, the company explained.

In November, Citrix announced the launch of its Ready product, which it claimed can help to accelerate the deployment of XenDesktop into large-scale enterprises.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19559291-ADNFCR
