Cloud-based desktop virtualisation solutions may be a shrewd investment

Investing in desktop virtualisation technology that runs in the cloud might be one of the shrewdest purchases a firm can make.

Joe Drumgoole, founder of FeedHenry, has spoken out to advocate the use of cloud solutions, despite some widespread fears about the system.

He noted that switching to the cloud triggers a raft of benefits that can be enjoyed immediately by firms.

For example, these include the potential to reduce costs, increase productivity and make it easier to access different markets.

"Really, most of the stuff that people scaremonger about – security, accessibility and who might be looking at your stuff on the cloud, is kind of redundant in many cases," Mr Drumgoole stated.

Nicola Mortimer, head of ICT and business development at O2, is another to have recently backed the move to the cloud.

She said doing this can increase the mobility and flexibility a business has when it comes to its staff working.
