Investing in cloud computing will allow companies in the UK to enjoy cost-effective and efficient telecommunications, particularly when calling abroad.

Max Cooter, editor of Cloudpro.co.uk, has explained there are "huge cost benefits" to acquiring cloud solutions in order to run a telephony system.

He said there will be "a big saving" made when using cloud equipment to make international calls rather than traditional phone lines and mobiles.

"When you think how much people pay in roaming charges when they use their mobile abroad, they can actually dial into a cloud service locally and call," Mr Cooter stated.

The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement recently quoted findings by Market Research Media that suggested the cloud market is set for growth for the rest of this decade.

If this is the case, it seems companies could be communicating in a very different way by 2020, with Mr Cooter stating it "makes sense" to switch to the cloud.
