Companies are likely to find that coming to rely on cloud computing over more traditional software allows them to reduce their costs.

Paul Green, an author and small business expert at Paulgreen.biz, explained his belief that the cloud can perform a number of roles and be relied upon by firms.

"Hardware costs and maintenance can be significantly reduced for a business, as effectively, all that is required for a lot of cloud-based software is an internet connection and a PC," he explained.

As well as embracing the cloud and all that it offers, companies need to keep up with some of the other technologies that are proving to be hits at any particular time.

Right now, that means adopting mobiles and tablets and taking advantage of the flexible benefits they can offer.

In recent days, Strategy Analytics became the latest organisation to praise cloud computing, noting it is now living up to the hype surrounding it.
