A local authority in England has begun using cloud servers in order to improve its working processes.
According to Suffolk County Council, traditional desktop-based solutions are quite limited when compared with cloud computing systems, the Guardian reports.
The authority has therefore begun making use of the technology and believes this move has yielded positive results.
Indeed, project manager Duncan Farley said switching to the cloud has helped Suffolk County Council save "both time and money".
Mark Adams-Wright, chief information officer, added that the technology has also enabled the body to collaborate more closely with Norfolk County Council on local infrastructure projects.
"It is imperative that everyone remains on the same page," he commented.
Mr Adams-Wright added that cloud technology has helped the council "achieve results quickly, reduce duplication and monitor progress in real time".
This comes shortly after a study by IHS iSuppli predicted that the cloud market will continue to grow this year.
