Companies are finding it increasingly easy to trust cloud computing as part of their everyday operations as the technology continues to be developed.
A new study by venture capitalist advisor North Bridge Venture Partners has found that 50 per cent of users now run cloud solutions when tackling "mission critical" applications.
The survey of 785 industry experts, vendors and users also discovered the most popular reason for investing in the cloud remains scalability. Indeed, 57 per cent of companies said it is the number one factor for adding the cloud to a business set-up.
On the other hand, 55 per cent admitted security is a concern and this is still an area in which cloud developers can make progress.
A prediction by Gartner Research, reported by US scheduling company Appointment-Plus, recently stated that 75 per cent of all call centres will adopt the cloud by 2013, as there is now an obvious need for it.
