9th January

Category: Virtualisation

Technology experts have been advised to expect the rise of cloud computing to continue over the next year.

According to IHS iSuppli, which has published its top predictions for the sector for 2012, the virtual storage and computing platform will pick up further users and expand this year.

One of the key areas for growth will be the interaction between mobile devices and the cloud, with new innovations due to be released to perfect this relationship.

The research body said companies that manage to master the art of promoting their new cloud computing solutions will rise to the top of the market.

It also suggested there will be a "multitude" of new releases in the cloud sector as firms seek to invest in the technology throughout 2012.

The second InformationWeek Reports State of Cloud Computing Survey recently revealed a belief that cloud computing is desired by many firms, with a high number believing they can get more from the solution than they currently do.
