Companies ‘can benefit from combining ERP software’

Category: ERP Software

With enterprise resource planning (ERP) software becoming an increasingly important feature of businesses, some bosses might be wise to consider ways to make it even more efficient.

Scott Koegler, author of Multisite Systems Integration and a former chief information officer, has told Internet Evolution that he believes companies have plenty to gain from pooling their resources.

He noted that most ERP systems in the modern era are server-based, which means owners must perform maintenance and pay staff to manage them.

However, should several firms team up to share resources, these costs could be divided several ways without affecting productivity.

Mr Koegler went on to note that as well as financial advantages, companies that share ERP software will enjoy the "compelling benefit" of being able to collaborate seamlessly when it comes to certain documents.

Dan Wood, writing for Forbes, recently said that one major ERP software provider – SAP – is progressing at a rapid rate, making tasks that once seemed difficult now appear easy.
