The changing market conditions faced by many businesses are leading to a rise in demand for managed services, according to technology firm Ericsson.
Staffan Akesson, vice president and head of managed services for the company, stated that outsourced IT is becoming more important to firms in the current competitive business environment.
Speaking at the recent Managed Services for Growth Markets Forum in Dubai, he noted that networks are becoming more complex and difficult to manage, as companies constantly seek to expand their service offerings.
As a result, managers are moving away from focusing on managing their networks internally and are choosing to outsource in order to allow them to concentrate on customer satisfaction.
Mr Akesson said: "Adopting managed services allows operators to focus on their revenue streams and on improving the quality of services that lead to an increase in their market share."
This echoes advice from David Loeper, chief executive officer of Wealthcare Capital Management, who told Financial Planning magazine last month that outsourced IT deals can help businesses to focus on their core priorities.
