Could home working help businesses deal with the Olympics?

12th June

Category: Workforce mobility

With the Olympic Games in London now just a little over six weeks away, firms in the capital might be wise to finalise their plans for how they intend to deal with the event.

Millions of people are expected to descend on the city over the duration of the Games and transport links are sure to be stretched.

As such, home working could provide a reliable and sustainable alternative, allowing companies to run at maximum efficiency without the need to negotiate huge Tube queues or severe bus delays.

New research by communications firm IPS Systems conducted at TradeTech recently showed some 70 per cent of investment bank staff believe London is simply not ready for the Games.

Although 76 per cent of respondents claimed to have a plan, just 17 per cent of traders have a back-up strategy.

With the event due to get underway on July 27th, there is not too much time for businesses to put last-minute plans into action.
