Integrating DataCore SanMelody software with Microsoft Hyper-V platforms is a winning combination, it has been claimed.
IT director at New York-based law firm McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams Jack Weisberg said his enterprise was drawn to SanMelody because he did not like "being tied" to particular platforms.
"It was very important for us not to get locked into older platforms, when there is newer hardware available on the market that we could use," he remarked.
According to Mr Weisberg, his organisation's storage was expanding at a much faster rate than previously and so it was important that the company implemented a system that facilitated growth.
Now all platforms are running "very nicely", he added, with the firm currently having redundant storage built into its virtual machines.
Last month, DataCore announced several modifications to its SanMelody solution aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, including enhanced content migration facilities, prioritised recovery functions and non-disruptive substitution.
