Demand for ERP systems ‘to increase in 2010’

18th January

Category: ERP systemsEnterprise resource planning (ERP) systems will be in high demand throughout 2010, as more companies begin to release funding for IT development.

This is according to a new study by Forrester Research, which stated that larger businesses will lead the way by introducing more technology of this kind.

Commenting on the survey, which predicted a surge in ERP selling following a challenging 2009 market, vice-president and principal analyst at the organisation Andrew Bartels said that demand was simply delayed and not cancelled.

"Expect a bounce-back in 2010, with double-digit growth rates," he remarked.

While purchase levels may take some time to reach figures seen in 2008, Mr Bartels added, interest in the sector will be much higher than last year.

Forrester Research also estimated the global technology market overall to experience growth of 8.2 per cent.

Last week, writing for VMblog.com, chief technical officer at Citrix Harry Labana suggested that businesses may look to introduce ERP platforms - such as SAP Business One - in an effort to save money through automation processes.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19562260-ADNFCR
