Category: Virtualisation

New virtualisation software has been rolled out by EMC at VMworld, it has emerged.

According to reports, RSA - the security division of EMC - has launched its Solution for Cloud Security and Compliance, which is said to make available its security and compliance tools to virtualised environments.

The firm stated the technology will provide a boost to customer confidence in moving business-critical applications to cloud infrastructures, by offering users a complete assessment of security and compliance position across their VMware infrastructure.

Commenting on the news, RSA chief technology officer Bret Hartman, said its customers are "excited" about being able to "continue extending and optimising their use of virtualisation".

However, he added they are "hesitant unless they can deliver proof of compliance against security standards such as PCI or HIPAA and VMware best practices".

VMworld, which is being held in San Francisco, is coming to an end today (September 2nd). It is set to be hosted in Copenhagen between October 12th and 14th.
