A fan manufacturer has become the latest company to choose SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software in a bid to improve its operations.

Halifax Fans, the UK's leading producer of the machines, has opted to invest in solutions offered by the technology provider.

It believes SAP can deliver equipment that supports it during a period of growth and create the opportunity to enter a series of new markets.

The firm must deal with its unique set-up, as 40 per cent of staff are based at the headquarters in the UK while 60 per cent work at various different locations.

"In order for the business to be able to maintain its growth and continue to be successful, it was obvious that we would need to implement a fully integrated solution," explained Ian McEvoy, owner of Halifax Fans.

SAP co-chief executive officer Bill McDermott recently told talk show host Jim Cramer that the company's solutions are designed to make the lives of those who use them easier, reported Forbes.
