With business increasingly being carried out on the go, a boss at enterprise resource planning (ERP) software giant SAP has spoken of the importance of ensuring mobile security is "rock-solid".
Oliver Bussmann, SAP's chief information officer, told the Financial Times that investing in a secure base and reliable strategy is the "first step" towards achieving enterprise mobility.
He went on to note that firms must encrypt any data they store on handsets rather than office-based computers.
Another factor to consider is the use of a "comprehensive" lifecycle management system for devices, which Mr Bussman suggested is the best way to enjoy a robust defence of corporate data.
Intriguingly, the ERP software expert admitted SAP is currently looking at desktop virtualisation in order to provide a more rounded strategy for its customers including the very latest technology.
AMI-Partners this week revealed its belief that ERP software is fuelling growth of the IT sector in Bangladesh, admitting its rise to prominence has been "drastic".
