SAP has taken steps to reaffirm its commitment to the importance of mobile technology during a special conference it hosted yesterday (June 14th).

The enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provider is holding the SAP Startup Forum, in which it aims to help new businesses improve the way they work.

It said that one of the main focuses of the current event, which is the second time the forum has been held, will be mobile applications.

A number of startup companies gathered at the conference and SAP presented a full day's programme that took in collaboration, competition and education, before tackling how to run mobile solutions in conjunction with its own products.

The event even gave business leaders the chance to experience the SAP Labs campus in Palo Alto.

Earlier this month, managing director of SAP Canada Mark Aboud told the Financial Post that mobile is one of the areas SAP solutions can help a company improve in.
