SAP, one of the world's most popular providers of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, has been picked out for its achievements in the customer relationship management (CRM) market.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has revealed its latest results for the sector in its Worldwide Semiannual CRM Tracker.

It takes a close look at some 190 companies within this area and assesses each for their performance, quality and predicted data.

Acclaimed ERP software application SAP Business One can be used as an effective CRM tool.

The IDC suggested that SAP is one of only four vendors in the top ten that managed to record growth in the first half of 2011 that is greater than the average market expansion.

Halifax Fans, the UK's leading producer of fans, was recently named as the latest firm to have invested in SAP's ERP software in a bid to improve its operations and support its move into new markets.
