ERP software ‘is now an option for small businesses’

22nd September

Category: ERP Software

In the past, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software has been viewed as an option only for large firms with significant clout.

However, according to a new report from the Aberdeen Group, an increasing number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are now realising the technology can work for them.

ERP in SME 2011: Setting the Stage for Growth reveals that 77 per cent of SMEs have now implemented the solution in some form.

One of the key incentives for doing so is that ERP software offers the potential to grow and to become a larger company.

Businesses now realise that ERP may be essential if they are to achieve the maximum they possibly can, as well as benefit from a range of other operational advantages.

Independent consultant Christopher Baum, writing for Software Advice, recently explained his belief that ERP software is getting "smarter" over time as new advances in technology are made.
