Leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provider SAP has revealed its commitment to the environment at a recent industry event.
Peter Graf, chief sustainability officer at the firm, spoke at a media gathering in Washington DC last week and said the organisation is always looking to promote green ways of working, reported FierceCIO.
SAP is an entirely transparent business, allowing users to enjoy access to dashboards that reveal exactly where power is being consumed in a building.
Mr Graf went on to note that SAP has developed a tool in conjunction with food firm Danone that offers the technology to work out the precise environmental footprint of any product.
He said SAP has saved about $263 million (£168 million) since 2008 as a direct result of its sustainable ways.
Nyrstar, the world's largest producer of zinc, was recently revealed to have invested in SAP's ERP software, citing the ability to enjoy a sustainable future as one of its key reasons.
