Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software solutions are increasingly available in mobile form thanks to leading provider SAP.

The technology manufacturer has confirmed that it is continuing to witness an upturn in mobile apps development.

Using its unique Sybase Unwired Platform, tools are being created that can offer a range of benefits to customers.

SAP believes that approximately 80 per cent of all future developments in this area will be made using the platform.

Along with its partners, the company has formed more than 100 apps that are due to be shown at the Sapphire Now + SAP TechEd event in Madrid.

"Working hand in hand, SAP and our partners provide customers with an expanded variety of mobile apps to help them mobilise line-of-business and industry processes, thus addressing their most critical business needs," explained Dr Raj Nathan, executive vice-president of Sybase.

Last week, SAP revealed that it is on track to meet its goals for the year in terms of being environmentally friendly.
