SAP is renowned as a leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for a variety of tasks, including accounting, banking and purchasing.

The precise areas in which firms will require ERP to work for them will depend on their individual circumstances, although the result of increased efficiency, accuracy and productivity are likely to remain the same.

Another of the features ERP software offers businesses is customer relationship management (CRM) – and SAP has recently won critical acclaim for its skills related to this.

Commenting on the company's inclusion on the CRM 2012 Watchlist, ZDNet writer Paul Greenberg said it is a deserving winner and will continue to be for many years to come.

He suggested SAP is perhaps the "most innovative company" of all the dominant players in the CRM market and one of the world's technological leaders.

Dan Woods, writing for Forbes, recently said SAP's outlook is based on the idea of excellent analysis and integration.
