SAP – a top provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software around the world – has revealed plans to merge one of its user groups with another.
It will join forces with Business Objects, an organisation it acquired four years ago, to form a standalone group that will operate within the UK and Ireland market.
Craig Dale, chief executive of the UK and Ireland SAP User Group (UKISUG), told Computerweekly.com that the deal is beneficial on both sides.
Meanwhile, Alan Bowling, chairman of the UKISUG, said more clients will be accessible to the firm once it has merged.
"SAP has been highlighting the benefits of using Business Objects in combination with the core ERP suite. We'll be working hard to ensure the value of this is demonstrated to our enlarged community," he stated.
Earlier this week, SAP revealed its financial results for the third quarter of 2011, which showed it has been performing well in the technology sector.
