Firms around the world are benefiting from the best in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software - and leading solutions provider SAP has revealed the extent of its own success in one particular region.

SAP Asia Pacific Japan has confirmed its financial results for 2011 were the best it has ever recorded in 40 years of trading.

Software revenue in the region was up by 32 per cent in the year to December 31st, while the final quarter of 2011 was the eighth successive three-month period of ten per cent-plus expansion.

"Across the region, our key markets of China, India and Japan led the pack with robust double-digit growth, while every market in the region performed well," explained president of SAP Asia Pacific Japan Steve Watts.

He said the company made breakthrough innovations in several areas, including mobility and the cloud.

The Latin Business Chronicle recently told how SAP enjoyed a successful 2011 in Latin America, with nations such as Mexico and Colombia proving to be particularly lucrative.
