ERP software provider SAP targeting MENA growth

7th June

Category: ERP Software

SAP has confirmed it is investing resources in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in a bid to ensure it retains its edge over its competitors.

Jim Hagemann Snabe, co-chief executive at the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software manufacturer, told the National that a $450 million (£291 million) fund will ensure SAP continues to lead the market.

He said there has been a noticeable surge in demand for "world-class global software" in the MENA region in the last five years.

"That led to a conversation last year where we ... feel the region is going into various different industries and has a lot of ambitions to create the future in many ways," Mr Hagemann Snabe stated.

With this in mind, SAP decided to ramp up its efforts in the area and ensure its commitment was heightened.

In recent days, Mark Aboud, managing director of SAP Canada, has told the Financial Post how adopting SAP solutions can help companies increase their levels of competitiveness, perhaps paving the way for many more investments in the near future.
