SAP may be a company that is known best for its expertise and success in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software market, but it believes it can also conquer the cloud sector.
President of cloud on-demand sales and go-to-market Greg Tomb has told Talkin' Cloud that the firm is aiming to hit the number one position in this area.
Indeed, he stated: "Three years from now we will be the de factor leader in the cloud."
In order to make this target a reality, Mr Tomb outlined three stages SAP must complete. Firstly, he argued it is important to provide solutions that offer immediate value to customers.
Secondly, the brand must make fast and worthwhile developments and, finally, it will need to excel when it comes to sales.
Bernard Golden, writing for IT World, recently suggested that investing in cloud computing is worthwhile for two main reasons – the reduced costs and the improved agility it offers.
