The largest retailer in South America has chosen SAP, a global leader in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software market, to provide green solutions.
Grupo Pao de Acucar will use SAP technology to monitor its carbon emissions and general performance in environmental terms.
With a strong commitment to sustainable business, the retailer is keen to reduce waste, promote recycling and develop green production processes.
Hugo Bethlem, vice-president of Grupo Pao de Acucar, said: "The new solution will allow us to bring this process in-house, making it more efficient and providing us with more operational control. We will gain both valuable insight and a robust tool."
The company will be one of the first in the continent to record its emissions and keep an inventory.
Today Online recently revealed that SAP is continuing its expansion plans with the launch of a new headquarters in Singapore, where approximately 100 researchers and scientists will be based.
