SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and other technologies could be so seamlessly implemented by global companies thanks to the work carried out by a network group.

The technology provider has confirmed Bayer – a world-leading health and nutrition business – is the latest of its users to join the SAP Premier Customer Network.

This is made up of top-tier organisations that run SAP solutions and get together to ensure its equipment is ready to drive efficiency and productivity within any body.

Commenting on the benefits, Markus Indetzki, head of SAP at Bayer, said: "Our participation provides ways to validate our SAP strategy, become more closely aligned over the long term and, in addition, connect us with people who are walking that same innovative path."

SAP's ERP software was recently deployed by Nyrstar, the world's largest producer of zinc, which said the technology should help it enjoy more effective management of its global operations.
