The ability of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to vastly improve the way a company operates has been explained by one executive.

Finning International adopted the technology in July and, although there have been some teething problems associated to its implementation, its long-term potential will revolutionise the way the firm works.

Mike Waites, president and chief executive officer at the organisation, said it has taken an "extraordinary" effort to get the solution up and running but now he is expecting top results.

"The ERP platform will drive operational excellence and support our long-term growth objectives. We are confident that the new system will enable us to provide the highest levels of service," he stated.

Mr Waites went on to reveal the ERP software helps the firm to increase capacity for planning and suggested it will be key to growth in 2012 and beyond.
