Category: Accounting & Financial SoftwareEnterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are to become more popular in 2010 as more and more companies look to automate their fiscal functions, it has been claimed.
Richard Herring, European staffing services director of IT recruitment firm Volt Europe, stated that this need will drive the requirement for contractors who can make these platforms more efficient.
He remarked: "Automating systems has its advantages for end-users, as it allows them to reduce debtor days, reign in their exposure and beef up their risk analysis systems."
According to Mr Herring, ERP and customer relationship management software are used so extensively that the skills to operate and maintain such programs will always be a necessity.
Automation will also be key for many organisations in lowering their carbon footprint throughout 2010, he added.
Earlier this month, a Research and Markets report indicated that ERP systems are likely to become vital for small and medium-sized enterprises in the coming years.
