Companies looking to invest in ERP systems could benefit from SAP Business One, a streamlining solution specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have triumphed greatly in streamlining company business procedures since their inception, one specialist has claimed.

Liz Benison of IT consultancy Capgemini stated that the benefits for investing in such applications "have long been understood", IDG reports.

"It is perfectly true that over the last ten years and more there have been many highly successful ERP implementations," she remarked.

According to Ms Benison, businesses of all sizes have been able to efficiently introduce the technology, including single-site operations and mid-sized firms.

An important factor to remember when looking to establish an ERP system is leadership, she added.

Especially with "vanilla" options, the expert concluded, as these will require managers to alter the business procedures of the organisation itself rather than modifying the software.

Executive vice-president of K2 Enterprises Randy Johnston recently complimented SAP Business One as being an excellent ERP option for small and medium-sized enterprises.
