ERP systems ‘can consolidate all business operations’

Category: ERP systems

Companies that invest in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system will be able to consolidate all their business operations into a uniform system environment, it has been suggested.

According to ERPCloudNews.com, an ERP system can either be used on a centralised server or be distributed across software units that communicate on a local area network.

The source noted it can be utilised to manage a number of different internal and external operations.

These can include financial processes, tangible assets, materials and human resources.

ERP applications will enable the flow of data between all business functions across an organisation and even manage connections to outside stakeholders, the website observed.

The portal added multiple copies of complex computer systems that do not use their full capacity can also be alleviated.

A recent study carried out by the Aberdeen Group found ERP systems provide vital infrastructure, especially for firms involved in the manufacturing industry.
