Installing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, such as SAP Business One, could help to make an organisation more attractive for future investment, one expert has claimed.
Share market specialist and author Frank Newman said that this kind of technology can be the "defining difference" in drawing funding, Inside SAP reports.
He remarked: "Companies with poor infrastructure will be inefficient, will perform poorly and will invariably become a takeover target for those who can extract efficiencies."
On the other hand, streamlining IT systems can help to raise productivity levels, leading to an increase in earning per share, Mr Newman commented.
This raises the share price and makes a company more attractive to the investor, he explained, adding that these platforms are now "central" to the way many firms go about their business functions.
Writing for the Register, Dale Vile recently noted that ERP systems have been significant in streamlining the number of applications enterprises use.
