ERP systems ‘reduce the need for paper-chasing’

2nd December

Category: SAP Business OneEnterprise resource planning (ERP) systems can help companies to streamline their administration functions and reduce "paper chases", one expert has claimed.

Writing for the Register, Dale Vile of Freeform Dynamics stated that direct access to technology of this kind has a range of benefits.

According to Mr Vile, an ERP system "minimises administrative costs, process execution delays and the occurrence of human error".

However, even companies that do have such platforms may still find themselves struggling with their paperwork because they have failed to fully utilise the application properly, he added.

Many individuals continue to receive the majority of their instructions via hard copy, the specialist claimed, which they then pass on to someone else to process, creating "people buffers" and undermining the efficiency of the system.
