Home working is an idea that is interesting businesses and their workers increasingly as time goes by.
The Globe and Mail recently told how Toronto film editor James Blokland has taken up the practice, citing the increased flexibility it provides, while his employer is said to be happier as they cut back on costs.
Mr Blokland even revealed he is able to roll out of bed just minutes before he is due to start and work in his pyjamas.
Now, Laura Vanderkam, writing for BNET, has added her reasons for home working to the debate.
She recognised the increased productivity as a result of working in more favourable surroundings and the employee's chance to miss out on a long commute as key positives.
Ms Vanderkam added that home working can also help people to make the most of the time available to them, as they can work from different locations on a daily basis.
