Firms ‘need to adapt to ERP innovations’

20th November

Companies looking to invest in ERP systems could benefit from SAP Business One, a streamlining business solution specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Companies hoping to reap the benefits of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems need to ensure they are prepared to keep up with technological advances in the industry, it has been claimed.

Writing for Computer World, Thomas Wailgum advised firms that once ERP technology has been installed, it is important for them not to rest on their laurels.

He stated: "It's about not only knowing which new applications and delivery models can immediately help the business; but also having the technological fleet of foot to take advantage of those new apps fast."

According to Mr Wailgum, the future of ERP platforms will see a number of new "wow-factor" applications become available and organisations need to be prepared to incorporate this into their current business model.

These kinds of changes can happen quickly, he added, so chief information officers need to be flexible to adapt their processes to new requirements.

IDG recently reported the results of a new Forrester Research study that found over two-thirds of global businesses expect to maintain or increase their current ERP spending levels.
