Flexibility ‘a key feature of 2010 ERP systems’

Firms that install enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems - such as SAP Business One - over the next 12 months will benefit from the increased flexibility being driven by product vendors.

This is according to Jason Busch, executive editor and contributor to Spend Matters, who stated that SAP in particular is to provide more functionality for companies that have specific operational requirements.

He noted that the Germany-based software provider now offers "a range of deployment options that mimic the deployment flexibility of best-of-breed vendors".

Mr Busch added that pricing for such platforms is becoming equally appealing, with organisations allowed structured payments over several years.

And this is likely to be the year in which ERP programs really progress with procurement and spend management functions, he explained, as SAP‘s contract-management processes now offer "tight integration into back-end systems".

Richard Herring, European staffing services director of IT recruitment firm Volt Europe, recently stated that professionals with ERP technology skills will be in high demand throughout 2010.ADNFCR-2732-ID-19573597-ADNFCR
